Happy Birthday Daughter

Today is my daughter's birthday....and I won't get to see her. We did get to see her last night and sang "HB" to her. I put two candles in a package of cinnamon rolls. Her allergies keep her from eating egg and when she was growing up I made Rice Krispy treats and cut them into squares and stacked them into a pyramid for her 'cake'. She loved it.

I will get to see her tomorrow  as we are attending a wedding together in the evening.  It will be fun to be on the dance floor with her and family and especially with Granddaughter. I will take pictures for sure.

I know you've heard this from me before: time does go quickly. It seems like yesterday I was cuddling and kissing our new baby girl. She had dark curly hair and cute dimples. God blesses us with her daily. And she feels the same way about hubby and me...what a gift that is.

Love you Dear Daughter.

Have a good day all.

Sunrise/Sunset

I grew up hearing the saying "Red in the morning; sailors take warning. Red at night; sailors delight." This was to help one plan the day weather wise...especially if going boating.  My father was in the Navy and I think he taught that to my mom.

As I went out our front door to get the morning paper, one day last week, I was greeted by an interesting red sky. I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a few pics - no photo editing done here.  It did rain later that day.

I hope you have many pretty sunrises in your life.... and when it rains "just run between the raindrops!" (another saying I grew up hearing).

Scrapbooking Monday - "What I See"

Good morning all.  This weekend hubby and I celebrated 45 years of being wed.  We celebrated over dinner with our children, their spouses and our granddaughter.  I feel like I should have something profound to say about being married 45 years; but I don't. The time certainly has gone fast. A problem I have now is I can't remember some of the years...so grateful for photo books.

Remember being young, in love and thinking "growing old together" sounds romantic? Hubby fell into bed one night last week and was very very tired...and looked it. He put his head on his pillow and said "Well, we did it honey. We grew old together."  omg; I laughed out loud...and still chuckle over it.  Actually; that is part of what has helped us last 45 years: his wit and ability to make me laugh almost daily. I do the same to him....love hearing him laugh at a quip I've made.

Last week's Scrapbook challenge on my Rockin' Scrappin' Grams group is to choose a quote (we were given 5) that 'speaks' to you and use it as your inspiration for a layout....no other rules or restrictions.

I chose the quote "It's not what you look at that matters, it is what you see."

I pieced by hand this little Smiley Face binocular girl..  I printed some clip art off Microsoft Office of a smiley face with the binoculars...cut out the arms and binoculars. Then I hand cut the blue sleeves and the mouth/eyebrows, punched a yellow circle and I cut the hat from the Cricut cartridge Gypsy Wanderings. I think she's cute.

Have a good Monday all.
