Family reunion

Friday night my sister and her family came to dinner: we are a small family... It has been 15 years since the three of us have been together. Brother is the oldest, I am 5 years younger, and our sister is 11 years younger than him. My brother and I have more memories of childhood together than sis and him.

My sis, her hubby, son and his fiance and her daughter. It's been a year since we were together.

Brother left for home this a.m. I'm sad.  I have a lot of pictures to edit and get printed for some Scrapbook pages.  Will be fun to be back to scrapping.

Have a good weekend all.

Visit with my Brother - Part 1

My Dear Brother arrived 5 days ago and we've been busy talking, catching up and going out and about.  It is so nice to have him home for a few days.

The other day we visited Alki Beach.  Brother moved from this area at the age of 18, and hasn't watched the city grow as I have. From Alki point, which is across the water from Seattle, we found the building, The Smith Tower, that was the tallest building in the city when we were growing up. It's a midget now.  I put an arrow in the picture to point out The Smith Tower.

A tug boat, ferry boat and a cruise ship.....busy port.

When we were teenagers those condos lining Alki were not there. Our Uncle Bob and Aunt Elsie had a house just before them. It is still there.

Spuds was the only 'fast food eaterie' at Alki when we were growing up. Now it has a lot of competition: but we just had to stop there.....for:

I love the surprising and unusual; and so when we were driving around I noticed this yard that used cobalt blue bottles for 'Yard Art'....just had to stop to take a couple of pictures.....I think it's fun:

The Blue Angels are in town practicing for a Seafair performance this weekend. We lucked out and had them fly by us.

I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend.

Good Will Wednesday

"Christmas in July" at our Goodwill was fun.  I did find a couple of nice things later last week. Also, on Friday after hubby and I finished garage sale shopping we stopped by there and found two Fenton items.

I like this china serving plate. Back stamp says it was made by Mitterteich in Germany. $2.50

...another nut or candy dish: $1.50

This is an angle lady made by Fenton Art Glass Co.: $2.00

Pink bowl made by Fenton Art Glass Co.: $2.99

Have a good Wednesday all. Today my brother and I are heading to the area we grew up in....our favorite Park awaits us.  I just wish our old house was still standing.

Scrapbooking Monday

Happy August...where is the summer going??

I'm still not scrapbooking due to summer projects, gardening, trips and family stuff.  I recently invested in a different way to store my Cricut cartridges and it's working out much better for me than the previous way.

Artbins are used by lots of crafters to store things in.  One of their latest bins has an insert in it to hold 16 cartridges, books and overlays.  It stands up well on it's end.

The lid is open in this picture.

While I was at JoAnn Fabrics last Thursday I found an interesting Clearance section. This large DCWV pack of cardstock was marked $4.99 as was the smaller size coordinating pack below.  I had a 20% off "all regular priced and sale priced items" coupon...so did very well... woohoo.

I hope you all have a good Monday. My brother is visiting me so I know I will.
