My Dear Brother arrived 5 days ago and we've been busy talking, catching up and going out and about. It is so nice to have him home for a few days.
The other day we visited Alki Beach. Brother moved from this area at the age of 18, and hasn't watched the city grow as I have. From Alki point, which is across the water from Seattle, we found the building, The Smith Tower, that was the tallest building in the city when we were growing up. It's a midget now. I put an arrow in the picture to point out The Smith Tower.
A tug boat, ferry boat and a cruise ship.....busy port.
When we were teenagers those condos lining Alki were not there. Our Uncle Bob and Aunt Elsie had a house just before them. It is still there.
Spuds was the only 'fast food eaterie' at Alki when we were growing up. Now it has a lot of competition: but we just had to stop there.....for:
I love the surprising and unusual; and so when we were driving around I noticed this yard that used cobalt blue bottles for 'Yard Art'....just had to stop to take a couple of pictures.....I think it's fun:
The Blue Angels are in town practicing for a Seafair performance this weekend. We lucked out and had them fly by us.
I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend.
