Sunday Tea Party

Sunday I attended a luncheon/tea party. It was hosted by a friend of mine and her friend. It was fun to girl chat and laugh together. I ended up sitting next to a very nice young girl who lives 20 miles from me and is in my niece's class at school....quite a coincidence. Her mother knows my sister in-law.

Some pictures:

Our Hostesses

The tea cup I used.

Tea pots with different teas in them.

Dessert table....help yourself.

Half of the attendees....my friends.

I like this flower holder...so pretty on the front porch.

Have a good Tuesday and a good cup of tea with dessert.

Paper Bag Mini Album

Happy Monday all.  Hope your weekend was good.

Saturday, during the hottest day here in 9 months, I took a 4 hour craft class. We made a mini album.  The class was taught by the very talented Laura. Laura has u-stream video sessions almost every Friday night. She comes up with some very creative projects. If the Pattern for this album is not in her store you can email her thru her blog and maybe she can make it available.

The 12 minute Youtube video Laura made for this Mini Album can be found here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAcsKl87Ryg

This was a fun mini album to make and I will be able to get lots of small pictures in it...not sure yet what they will be. With all the papers pre-cut to size this mini album took 4.5 hours to finish.

The covers are chipboard that were covered with paper and the inside pages are made using 6 paper sacks. There are 12 larger tags and 6 smaller ones. The papers/embellishments provided were made by K&Company. I have quite a few photos to share:

The cover...

I added Stickles to the dragon fly.

Close up....I highlighted most of the flowers with Stickles.

The tiny butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

....spine adornment, back and front covers.

Thanks for visiting and have a good day.

Garage Sale Friday, Ramblings and Crafting

Happy Friday...wow is it beautiful outside and we are to have temps in the 70's this weekend. That is a shock.

Yesterday I boxed up a few pieces of the lamp I'm working on and took it to a lamp repair place. He told us it is from the late 1950's and in wonderful shape and (as we know) were lucky to find it for $5. He told us to handle it with care as there are no replacement parts for the glass...the prisms yes. I wanted to buy a few tiny metal replacement parts (that are rusted) and he said they are not available and to just spray paint mine. (why didn't I think of that?).  I have to buy a longer chain for it and five shades.

Last Friday hubby and I found a few garage sales midst the light rain....most were actually INSIDE the garages. I don't know about you; but, I couldn't have a sale in my garage...it's too full of stuff.  Anyhow; we found a couple of nice things and had fun.

We ended out shopping at a Seniors Mobile Home place. An elderly lady was moving and was selling a lot of her stuff. We bought some glass and I bought a hand stitched picture she did...it needs cleaning badly and reframing. I'll share it when it's revitalized...her name is Helen.

....two fun and pretty bowls.

I haven't been able to identify the maker of this green one: yet.

This bowl reminds me of an upside down umbrella...won't candy corn look pretty in it? This interesting bowl was made by Indiana Glass Company in the 1990's.

Individual ashtrys and a tray made by Fostoria Glass Com. This is the American pattern.

I miss scrapbooking so so much...but making headway on the Projects.... I do have a craft class tomorrow and that will be fun and maybe scratch my creative itch.

Blogger is still messed up and some people can't leave comments....don't stop reading blogs though.  I received an email from a sweet follower telling me she can't leave messages but is still reading. Thank you.

Now a tip that might help some... when you type your comment and then it asks you to "sign in" on the next screen....make sure the "keep me signed in" box is not Checked...then sign in with your information.  It might take two or three clicks of the "post comment" box but it should leave your comment as you; not anonymous.  Hope that makes sense and works...  the troubles that Blogger has had for two weeks is awful and what is worse is their communication about it.

Have a fabulous weekend and if you live in the Pacific NW enjoy the sunshine.....we haven't seen a sunny weekend since last summer... shame on Mother Nature!!! torturing us like that.

Thursday with Granddaughter

Granddaughter is not feeling well. She has a head cold which we all hate.  Remember projects number 1&2?

Well she's loving them. She clamped onto them right away this morning when I gave them to her....and has been dragging both around and snuggling into them.  So fun and cute.
...me snuggling her while she snuggles her new blankies.

I was showing her videos of herself when she was learning to crawl...she's pointing to herself. Makes one wonder what they think....

RE: blogger problems. When I open up my blog my followers don't show up (again)... can you all see them?  I'm quite frustrated with the blogger problems still.

Good Will Wednesday

Good Wednesday to you.  Good Will Hunter made a great (small) find at our GW last week.  When our Goodwill recognizes Fenton items they mark the price high and put it in their "Collector Case". This item is not marked Fenton as was made before Fenton started marking their items with a logo (in 1970) and no one recognized it as Fenton. So it was on the regular collectible shelf.

This is an Emerald Crest sugar bowl made in 1949-1955. Most of the items made in Emerald Crest have a green strand of glass on the upper edges. For the Sugar and Creamer they made the handles out of green glass.

Below is a glimpse of Project #4...the lamp. We got it apart and I started cleaning it. There are about 50 prisms to clean. The glass parts are pressed glass. I'm still researching it.

Have a good Wednesday everyone.
