Good Will Wednesday
I (me, me, me) found one neat item at a Goodwill in the Big City last week. I had a medical appointment to keep and due to traffic being surprisingly light I had time to stop. I love Senior Discount day! If I need to go that way again for any medical needs I'll try to remember to schedule my appointment according to the day of the week.
A very pretty Lenox Christmas candle holder. I call this the 'scoop style'...don't know what it is really called. I already have one of these so now have a pair to use at Christmas time.
Good Will Hunter has not had such good luck lately. He's heading that way today though...I might go with him for moral support.
Have a good day all and do a kind deed.

Family weekend
I've never wanted to live on the ocean but love visiting there, walking the sandy beach and hearing the roar of it.
Last weekend hubby and I, and our children, rented a Cottage on the Pacific Ocean. This being October we didn't expect great weather but wow, we lucked out. Saturday and Sunday were sunny and a warm 60 deg. What a bonus! The cottage was 1/2 block from the ridge overlooking the ocean. It only took a few minutes to get on the beach. Oh for Joy!
Hubby and I were celebrating our annivesary and we celebrated our daughter's birthday as well.
Walks, games, relaxing, playing with the baby and eating were the agenda for the weekend. I'm so glad we got to go and our dil who couldn't come was missed.

They call them cottages...(four bedrooms, two baths, kitchen w/eating

Me and the 'kids'
The Pacific Ocean
Hubby got romantic and made me an anniversary card in the sand
Here we are being romantic together
Pig's ears blowing in the wind
Baci and her wind goggles
Daughter, Son in-law and Grandbaby girl (see her nose?)
..."hey, let me in guys."
Baci ran free while
pig had to pull a log for
These two
Granddaughter loved the sand on her feet
Gazebo on cliff overlooking beach
Views from inside that gazebo
...almost crawling
Baby had her first head cold. Sneezes cute.
Talking with Uncle
....preparing a big Saturday night dinner
Granddaughter's first look at candles
We sang "Happy Birthday" to her mommy but she
thought it was all about her....
Snuggling baby in the wee hour of the Sunday morning was
pretty special. She and I talked before the trip and planned
to me match-matchy, all pretty in pink, for our slumber party.

Grandpa is the best toy
My hubby went with me last Monday to take care of Granddaughter. He's always been good at playing with children and so enjoyed being on the floor for 1/2 of the day with the baby.
She won the wrestling match
....of course she is
We're nuts about her also
This is what happens when her hair is wet...
Monday's are a Joy.....hope yours is also.

44 Years
of married life.
Today is our 44th Wedding Anniversary. I'm going to pull out the Wedding photo album for reminiscing....all B&W photos; we couldn't afford colored ones.
44 years - wow. I can't remember all of them and as I sat this a.m. trying to remember them I could only pick out certain events. The specifics of the daily activities of work, raising children, having pleasurable and sad times......all seem to blend/fade away. Thank goodness for photo albums.
A few of the things I do remember about our marriage center on my husband, our fun interaction, love, respect and his essence. He is very witty and I don't think a day has gone by that he hasn't made me laugh. I make him laugh and occasionally I hear him enjoying a quip I've made and I smile.
I can't count the flowers he's given me for only the reason of I love and appreciate you. He still shows up with roses occasionally and my heart melts again. I've suffered some serious diseases and multiple surgeries in our 44 years together and I can't count the days he has been my care taker, with great compassion, love and positiveness.
His devotion to me as a husband (and our children as their father and now as a grandfather) is and has been total, with love and respect. It is very nice to know you make someone happy. He makes me that. My love of and for him is still huge and Thank You God for bringing that man into my life at the tender age of 16.
I remember us sitting in my parent's living room in the early spring of '66 and picking the date for our wedding (hubby didn't care). In looking at the calendar that year of 1966 the first Saturday of October was a 1st...I thought how nice to begin our life together, our marriage on the 1st day of a month: new month, new life. It was odd how other numbers didn't fit....So October 1, 1966 it was....
I remember celebrating our 1st anniversary by having dinner at my husband's parent's house. I remember our 25th anniversary by going out to dinner together. I had purchased a pretty blue dress and we dressed up and went out. The kids would have been 16 and 10. I remember our 40th anniversary as we went to Las Vegas with the children and their spouse/significant other for 5 fun days. I remember I broke my baby toe on our 20th and again on our 40th Anniversary dates....no dress up heels on those days and I cancelled the dinner out on the 20th one due to extreme pain. Right now I don't remember the rest of our anniversaries. But that is ok as they are all a sum of the now......44 years of wonderful life together.
Thank you hubby. I love you. You make me smile.
